Today our start house began to take form. We completed the first wall which had the dimensions of 12ft x 6' 8". This is the main wall that will be facing the racers as they are awaiting their race run. Therefore we took the time to make a window slot so that a window can be inserted later on. First we took the 12 foot 2x4's and created a frame. Then we added all the necessary studs so that there was one every 16 inches with the exception of where the window will go. Once all studs were in place we cut the 2x4's to length in order to fit the whole we need to insert the window. Lastly we added all of the strapping in which the outside framing will hang off of. That brought us to our conclusion of our day and tomorrow we hope to complete the opposite wall and look into starting the decking of the main base. We plan on working 9-12 tomorrow as opposed to 9-2 today.
